A Modern Cinderella
First it was Harper as red riding hood. Now we continue the fairy tale themes with Erin as the modern Cinderella. Most Cinderella images are either scrubbing the floor or running down stairs loosing a glass shoe. For this series I wanted a more modern Cinderella getting ready for the grand ball. With mobile phone in hand Erin dispenses with a grand ball dress, instead opting for the elegant nude look, with new fairy tale shoes, and diamond jewellery, what more does a girl need......other than a prince charming.
The Cinderella tale was first published by Charles Perrault in 1697 over 300 years ago. It is a tale where unjust treatment, ends up with an extraordinary reversal of fortune and a happy ending. We all know the tale so I wont go over it step by step.
I think we all dream changing our circumstances, that we all deserve much better than we have, especially when the class division in many places is so wide, and increasing every year. Instead of just dreaming of change, we all have the ability to create a better life for ourselves, only limited by our will to do so. There is (for most) no physical barrier, only a mental one. One that exists only in our own minds.
As for Erin. The question is, has this Cinderella found her prince charming............?
