Being Nude Is Actually Good For You.

With all the banning of nudes on Facebook, Youtube etc you would think that people hate nudity or the nude form. Yet if you look about, the nude physique, very much like Isis in these images, has been the source of art for as long as people have been able to draw.

People enjoy looking at other people, especially nude people. Why is that? There is a correlation between places and states in the world where nudity is more restricted and the consumption of nude images. That is to say that if a country is very strict on nudity, than people in that county are more likely to look for images of nudes than in countries that are more relaxed on nudity. In other words people want to see nudes. People are ok with nudes. Maybe we need ot see nudes as part of our overall wellbeing.

There was some research conducted (published in Scientific American and The Conversation) which showed that “Focusing on exposed skin yields some positive perceptions, which is contrary to people’s common perception” We empathise with nude people more than we do clothed. So much so that in the study, female participants were less likely to give an electric shock to a bare chested male than they would a clothed one.

This all leads us to believe that nudity is not just natural, but essential to a more healthy life and attitude to others. We must stress that the study showed that neutral nudity had the most positive effect. Sexualised nudity still objectified the person.

To sum it all up nudity like we see here with Isis is not just beautiful nude, art, but also a form of therapy of the mind and a way for us to see each other in a more positive way. Maybe instead of covering up as much as possible and banning nude images from social media, but instead we should all nude up and share our nude physiques.
